Evangelization & Service

Now we have Encountered and Committed to Christ, there is a natural desire to Share Him! Our faith should be the best news we could share with someone.

Evangelization is the mission of the Church. The Church teaches that evangelization is the Church's deepest identity: it exists to evangelize. We, as the living stones that make up the Church, are called to evangelize too.

How can we invite people to join us on the road or help give to direction someone who seems lost?

Evangelization is something we oftentimes overthink, but the Church teaches that you don't need great training or in-depth teaching to evangelize. You just have to go out and do it. We are all in this together. Evangelization can be scary, but there is a reason Christ sent out his disciples in pairs. We hope to be an evangelizing community that grows.

You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope.
— Thomas Merton

The saints are not supermen, nor were they born perfect. When they recognized Godā€™s love, they followed it and served others.
— Pope Francis

Jesus Christ sent us on mission to serve the least and the broken and the vulnerable. He told us to clothe, to feed, to visit, to heal, and to shelter. He told us that when we do things for others, we do it for Him.

We all want to serve, but sometimes it can be difficult to determine what it is that we have to give. Or maybe you know what you have to give, but you have not found the time to do it.

Let's really reflect on what we're doing and how we can do more, or do it better. Ask yourself how you can show God's love through service. Maybe it's as radical as traveling internationally to serve on a mission trip. Maybe it's as simple as bringing a meal to a neighbor.

Know your current location in life and what you have to give... then give it. Together we can be a community that truly serves.
