Please contact Jeanette Lambrecht, Director of Child Ministry at jlambrecht@stme.church or    (414) 420-6164 with questions or to volunteer. We look forward to having your child join us!  Thank you!

CURRICULUM

Our Child Ministry Program uses material from Loyola Press (www.loyolapress.com)

              K4: God Made the World

K5-1st grade: Finding God: Our Response to God’s Gifts

2nd grade / Sacraments: God’s Gift: Reconciliation and God’s Gift: Eucharist

3rd-8th grade: Finding God: Our Response to God’s Gifts

In class, students will study a chapter from the workbook which we send home. The final page of each lesson has a review, suggestions on activities to live what they learn and a closing prayer. We ask parents to review this at home and then students should complete and submit an online review after each lesson. Families will also have access to a copy of the digital workbook online. If a child misses a class, they are expected to study the lesson online at home with their parents and complete the online review.

CATECHESIS AT HOME

If you prefer to teach your child at home, we offer the option to use the Finding God curriculum with online support.  Students are expected to complete the chapter review online weekly. Parents are responsible for regular check-ins with the Director. Do not register for this online; instead, make an appointment to discuss this with Jeanette Lambrecht.

CATECHISTS – SUNDAY SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL

Materials, orientation and training are provided. The materials are very user friendly - you don’t need to know everything! It is a wonderful way to grow in your own faith while nurturing the faith of our young people. Parents who commit to teach full-time in either the Sunday School or Middle School program will receive free tuition for all the children in their family!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to Catechists, we need . . . Aides in all (Sunday School and Middle School) classrooms.  Hall Monitors for Sunday School.  Lesson preparation and clerical help in the office during the week.  Assist with occasional crafts or service projects.  High school students may volunteer for service hours.

SAFEGUARDING ALL GOD’S FAMILY

St. Eugene and St. Monica Parishes are committed to providing a safe environment for all. In compliance with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, all volunteers over the age of 18 MUST attend a (free, one-time) Safe Environment Education Session, pass a criminal background check and read and sign the Code of Ethical Standards for Church Leaders. In addition, it is our goal to have ALL parents attend this class to increase awareness and safety. This would also qualify parents to chaperone field trips, work on service projects or assist in classrooms. To register for a class, please go to www.archmil.org/offices/safeguarding.htm.
